Well of course they couldn't host the funeral! When the gates of hell opened up to receive Mr. Sinclair it could have burned down their church.

Geez this is why somedays i hate being associated with the christian faith. I just hope they are as gracious when Mr. Sinclair greets them at the pearly gates.

As a former pastor, who officiated at the funerals of many people who NEVER darkened the door of ANY church, I must say I'm more than a little bemused by this church's stance. Funerals are for the living, not the dead. This church could have shown Christ's love to people who were grieving. Instead, they made the grief worse. For shame!

So sad but, on a plus note, IOWA is stepping into the 21st century. Don't know how things will end up but it looks like Iowa could be the next state to allow gay marriage! :) James and I are hoping to hear from our friends who've been together 15+ years soon that they're going to get to have a wedding. We'd be nothing but happy for them. http://www.dmregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070831/NEWS01/708310381/1001&lead=1

On a related note, I can't say I've ever heard of the Catholic Church doing such a thing (not to say they haven't) but this is just sad.
